Primary 4 – September/ October Highlights

September marked a big milestone for our Primary 4 pupils as they transitioned to the senior part of our school. They embraced the change with great maturity, now staying until 3 o’clock each day. It was heartwarming to see the children reconnect with old friends and warmly welcome new ones into their circle.

Throughout this half term month, the children have engaged in a variety of fun and meaningful activities. They have worked in pairs, small groups, and independently, building collaboration and confidence. A key highlight was their introduction to our school Chromebooks, where they began exploring digital learning in exciting new ways.

Outdoor learning also played a big role, with pupils discovering new areas of the forest and engaging with nature through fresh materials and techniques. Whether working as a team or individually, they showed curiosity, creativity, and a strong sense of community.

As part of their PE skills development, the children began learning hurling, exciting and fast-paced they are building coordination skills, teamwork, and resilience. The enthusiasm and energy is fantastic to see- definitely a few stars of the future among this skilful bunch!

The children have been busy learning about the world around them, with a special focus on significant buildings in our local area. A highlight at the end of term was our Halloween storytelling session at Bagenal’s Castle, where history and imagination came alive in a truly magical setting.

To top it all off, we celebrated the end of term in spooky style with a Halloween dress-up day and a fantastic school disco! The costumes were creative, the music was lively, and the fun was unforgettable.

What a brilliant way to wrap up the term!

A truly wonderful start to the year in P4!
