P7 Shine in Cycling Proficiency Training
Our P7 pupils took part in the Cycling Proficiency Scheme this week, and we were delighted to welcome an official instructor who spent the day teaching safe cycling skills and road awareness.
She was extremely impressed by how sensible, focused, and responsible the children were throughout the session. From careful listening to confident practice, our pupils showed real maturity as they learned how to stay safe on the road.
🌟 What the Instructor Noticed
-
Signalling skills — The instructor praised the class for their clear, steady hand signals, which are essential for communicating with other road users.
-
‘Life saver’ looks — She was particularly impressed by how well the children used their over‑the‑shoulder safety checks, known as “life saver looks,” before turning or changing position on the road.
-
Road awareness — Pupils showed great understanding of spacing, stopping, and staying alert.
🚲 A Proud Moment for Our School
The instructor commented on how polite, sensible, and enthusiastic the group was.
We are incredibly proud of our P7 pupils for representing the school so well and for taking their cycling safety so seriously. 🚴♂️
