Recently our son was asked to take part in a football tournament in Salou Spain (Nations Cup) after successfully competing in trials. His team were the 2015 South Down team and they played 4 games the first day winning the first three games and drawing their last match with Barcelona Academy. On the second day they played Barcelona again twice. On this day they drew the first match and won the second (which was the final) 1 nil.
This little team from south down went all the way to Spain and beat Barcelona to win the cup. 🏆 The team had only 10 weeks of training and a couple of friendlies to get to know each other and find a way to play as a team.
As I'm sure you can imagine we are extremely proud of our son and the other boys in the team.
