P4 January–February Update

P4 have had a wonderfully busy and exciting start to the new year! January and February have been filled with hands‑on learning, creativity, and lots of joyful experiences.

A snowy morning early in the term brought great excitement, with the children enjoying the wintery views and sharing their own snowy adventures. Another highlight was our “Bring Our Toy to School Day,” where pupils proudly introduced their favourite toys and used them as a springboard for discussion, writing, and imaginative play.

As part of our celebration of St Brigid’s Day, the children learned about the traditions surrounding the saint and worked carefully to make their own St Brigid’s crosses. They showed fantastic teamwork and patience as they wove each reed into place. In Art, P4 explored colour and pattern through vibrant paintings inspired by Wassily Kandinsky’s concentric circles, producing beautiful pieces now brightening our classroom.

We have also been keeping active with fun PE games and skill‑building sessions led by coaches from Fun Fit, which the children have thoroughly enjoyed. In the classroom, pupils have been developing their research skills using iPads, learning how to find information safely and confidently. As part of our Young Enterprise programme, they took part in activities focused on community awareness and early financial capability—an engaging introduction to understanding how our local community works and the value of money.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our kind and generous P4 parent volunteer, who gave up his time to upgrade our school fish tank and even surprised us with six beautiful new fish. The pupils in P4 were absolutely thrilled to be involved in the process and learned so much along the way. Your enthusiasm, patience, and expertise made this a truly memorable experience for them. Thank you for helping to make our school such a vibrant and caring place—your support means so much to us all.

It has been a fantastic few months of learning, exploring, and growing together. Well done, P4!
