Learning Through Play in P1 - Term 2
This term, the children have made wonderful progress through a wide range of Play‑Based Learning experiences. Outdoors, they strengthened their gross motor skills in the wheeled‑vehicle area, creating and negotiating pathways using cones and crossings. The outdoor construction Area continues to be a firm favourite, with pupils working together to design, build, and bring their imaginative ideas to life. Indoors, our focus has been on managing resources—accessing materials independently and returning them to the correct places after use. The children have also loved exploring the sand and water areas, digging, scooping, and filling different containers using tools and their hands. They have begun investigating how to create moulds with a variety of containers, developing early scientific thinking through play. As always, the forest remains a highlight of the term, offering the freedom to forage, explore, and discover without limits.
