November in Mrs Kearney’s Class
As we step into the festive season at school, we reflect on a wonderfully busy November in Primary 1.
Our class has been working hard across all areas of the curriculum. In Literacy and Numeracy, we’ve been learning new sounds and numbers, and this month we began our exciting journey into segmenting and blending—skills that are helping us grow as readers and writers. In Numeracy, our non-number work focused on patterns and shapes, which the children explored with great enthusiasm.
Play-Based Learning continues to be a highlight in Primary 1. This month, we enjoyed so many learning experiences in The Creative Classroom. Outdoors, we had plenty of opportunities to develop our gross motor skills in The Construction Area, Forest, and The Mud Kitchen. In PE we had lots of fun working on our balance.
November was also a time for remembrance. We honoured friends and family who have gone to Heaven by creating beautiful leaves for our Remembrance Tree, proudly displayed in the school foyer.
Another special event was the visit from the Travelling Book Fair. The children loved listening to stories and browsing the fantastic selection of books available.
Please take a moment to look through the photographs showcasing all the fun and learning we’ve enjoyed this month.
