November in Mrs McParland’s Class
Welcome to our November News.
We returned to school after the Halloween break and revised the sounds s, a, t, p, i, and n.
On Wednesday 5 November the Newry Democrat reporters visited our class and we all had our photographs taken for ‘Kids Say’.
On Friday 7 November we went to Assembly for the first time. We learned a song to remember those we have loved who now live in heaven.
Our new sounds were m, o & c
We learned the numbers 5, 6 & 7.
Anti bullying week took place from 10 - 14 November. Primary 1 learned all about kindness and respect as part of Anti-Bullying Week. We talked about what bullying means and how it can make people feel. The children shared lots of great ideas about how to be a good friend and how to help others if they feel sad or left out.
Sr Rosemary came to pray with us on Monday 17 November. We all enjoyed listening to Sr Rosemary, she was very kind.
The Travelling Book Fair visited St Clare’s Abbey and our class went together to view the books and accessories. Mrs Mc Parland read the story, ‘That’s my Flower’, and we were excellent listeners!
Parents and family members please go through the photographs with your child and discuss what is happening.
