October in Mrs McParland’s Class
Welcome to our October news
We have been very busy this month and enjoyed the mud kitchen, the bikes, the quarry and the creative classroom.
Our new sounds were t, p, i and n’.
Mrs Mc Parland read the story ‘The Tiger Who Came To Tea’ for the ‘t’ sound. When we came back from the PE hall the Tiger had visited our class and left us a tea party!
To reinforce the ‘p’ sound we read ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. We all took turns to make porridge and most of us enjoyed eating it with ‘honey’. We also enjoyed the stories, ‘Handa’s Surprise’ and ‘No Lunchbox’.
Our words this month are, ‘and, the, is and no’.
Our new numbers were 3 and 4.
October was walk to school month and we all tried our best. We know we have to wear bright clothes when walking and cycling.
On Tuesday 21st we enjoyed Halloween stories and on Friday 24th we all enjoyed the Halloween fun day.
Thank you to the family members who helped the children with their costumes and supported our school councils fundraising effort.
Enjoy the holidays.
