This week our oldest pupils, under the banner of the ‘Giving a little bit back’ project, helped us with jobs around the school grounds. The children were involved in gardening, weeding, replenishing flower beds, patching up holes in the Sports field, painting, preparing the route for the May procession and sprucing up the Nursery in preparation for graduation. They were a remarkable and energetic work force and the school is beautifully presented now in readiness for the many celebrations that will unfold in the weeks to come. This is an important part of the P7 programme as they reflect upon all that they have received as pupils in our school. They are introduced to the concept promoted at all times by Saint Francis ‘that it is in giving that we receive’ and they showed this week that they are very willing to give back now, having received so much. To say that we are proud of them is an understatement.
