Safer Internet Day 2026

24th Feb 2026

Last week, our school marked Safer Internet Day 2026 with a fantastic range of activities, including an assembly led by our enthusiastic Digital Leaders. They spoke confidently about this year’s theme, shared real-life examples of staying safe online, and reminded everyone how small choices can make a big difference to our digital wellbeing. Their presentation was clear, engaging, and showed just how much thought and preparation had gone into it.

Throughout the week, P6 and P7 had a visit from a PSNI Officer Mary to remind them of the perils of inappropriate internet use and to explain how best to keep themselves safe while using online platforms.  Pupils also took part in a creative competition linked to Safer Internet Day. Judging the entries proved to be much harder than expected! From posters and poems to videos and cartoons, every submission showed brilliant ideas and a strong understanding of how to stay safe online. The quality was so high that choosing winners felt almost impossible, but it was wonderful to see how thoughtfully everyone had approached the challenge.

Overall, it was a memorable week that reminded us all how important it is to use the internet responsibly, kindly, and safely.
