September in Miss Mallons class
Welcome to Primary 2!
It has been such a busy month in Miss Mallon’s class. We have been revising our teen numbers, practising counting and sequencing numbers within 20. The forest was a great place to develop our understanding of length. We had a great time comparing sticks, looking for the longest stick and having chats with our peers about measuring.
In literacy we have been putting our writing skills to work. We learned a lot about Autumn poems through the works of the wonderful children’s author Shirley Hughes.
Learning through play has been super in Primary 2. We have been developing scientific skills of observing, collecting, classifying and predicting through handling leaves and natural materials from our woodland area. We love working together in the construction and block areas making bridges, restaurants and even hotels!
