St Clare's Abbey Choir part of Children in Need Super Choir!

6th Nov 2019

Choirs from 4 Schools in NI have been invited to participant in this year’s Children In Need ‘super-choir’ where thousands of children around the UK will sing the same song (True Colours) simultaneously on the evening of Children in Need – Friday 15 November 2019. BBC Network will feature every choir during the performance by ‘bouncing’ around the Nations & Regions. Some members of the St Clare’s Abbey School Choir are part of the lucky few who have been invited. We are so privileged to be part of the Children in Need appeal show, helping to raise money for a great charity.

On Monday 4th November a team from BBC came to St Clare’s Abbey to see how the boys and girls were doing learning the song. It was Lights! Camera! Action! for the boys and girls in the Children in Need choir. We sang “True Colours” numerous times whilst being filmed and recorded, and really got a glimpse into the life of a professional musician. At the end of our rehearsal we were so excited to get to meet a very special guest…PUDSEY BEAR!

We invite you to tune in on Friday 15th November to BBC NI at 8.00pm to catch a glimpse of the St Clare’s Abbey choir singing as part of the Children in Need choir.

There will also be a follow up highlights show broadcast on Sunday 17th November 3.30pm on BBC One, "Northern Ireland's Best Bits".
