Our classes have been embracing the outdoors through Forest School sessions, exploring nature, building shelters, and learning new outdoor skills. The children have shown fantastic teamwork and curiosity as they discover more about the world around them.
🌸 May Procession in Honour of the Virgin Mary
A special moment in our school calendar took place this week as we held our May Procession for the Virgin Mary. Pupils processed beautifully with flowers, prayers, and hymns, creating a peaceful and reverent celebration of this long‑loved tradition.
🎶 Sing A Song Celebration at Newry Cathedral
Our school choir travelled to Newry Cathedral to take part in the Sing A Song celebration, joining voices with other schools in a joyful afternoon of music. The children sang with confidence and heart, filling the cathedral with sound and spirit.
📚 Reading Twin Scheme with Darlington
We are delighted to be part of a brand‑new pilot reading twin scheme with our partner school in Darlington, Durham. Pupils have begun exchanging books, letters, and reading reflections with their “reading twins,” helping to build friendships and strengthen literacy skills in a fun and meaningful way.
🍫 Invented Chocolate Adverts
Creativity has been flowing in our classrooms as pupils designed and filmed their own chocolate adverts for imaginary chocolate bars. From magical ingredients to dramatic voice‑overs, the children showed brilliant imagination — and plenty of persuasive techniques.
