World Book Day 2026 P4 Mrs Cribbin’s class
Thank you so much to our P4 parents and children for the wonderful effort made with the children’s costumes for World Book Day. The creativity, thought and care that went into each one truly made the day extra special, and the children were so proud to share their characters with their friends.
In P4, we aim to inspire the children with a love of reading by helping the children see books as enjoyable, exciting and full of imagination.
As part of our celebrations, the P4 children also visited the P1 classes to read stories and share their reading skills with the younger children. This was a lovely experience that allowed our pupils to act as positive reading role models and take pride in their own progress as readers. In P4, we aim to inspire the children with a love of reading by helping them see books as enjoyable, exciting and full of imagination. The children also enjoyed taking part in a live lesson with the author and illustrator of Tom Gates books Liz Pichon. They gained lots of valuable tips for story writing and illustrations.Days like World Book Day bring stories to life and encourage the children to talk about books, explore new authors and develop confidence as readers.
