P2 understanding balance and stability,

Through block play the children have opportunity to develop their understanding of balance and stability, elevation and structure through experience. Taking stimulus from the buildings in our local area the children experimented with designing, building and evaluating work buildings both independently and with peers. 

Maths skills are constantly developed through block play, in these examples the children were using measure, understanding of height/ width, sequencing blocks.
