September in Mrs Kearney’s Class

1st Oct 2025

The Primary One children have made a wonderful start to their school journey this September. They have embraced their new environment with enthusiasm and curiosity, quickly adapting to the routines and expectations of school life.

The children have shown a growing understanding of school rules and are learning to follow them with increasing independence. They are becoming familiar with daily routines such as lining up, tidying up, and transitioning between activities, which helps create a calm and structured learning environment.

Play-based learning has been a key part of their experience, allowing them to explore, create, and learn through practical activities. The children are engaging well with a variety of resources and are learning how to access and return them responsibly, showing respect for shared materials and spaces.

Socially, the children continue to develop important skills in playing and sharing with others. They are learning to take turns and cooperate in group play. Kindness is encouraged and celebrated, and it has been heartening to see many examples of caring behaviour, such as helping a friend, offering a smile, or using kind words.
Overall, the children have settled in beautifully. Their confidence is growing each day, and they are building strong foundations for learning, friendships, and positive school experiences.
