Safety in school grounds
I really need your help parents and remind you:
That we operate a 'drop off zone' and a one way system. We have had a few 'near misses as parents have not followed the one way system and have 'cut off' across the flow of traffic, to park in the area beside the canteen. I am very fearful that we will have an accident.
- That you need to be so careful when dropping off children. Pupils should disembark onto the pavement- not onto the road/ car park side, where cars are busily trying to depart.
- When driving off from your'drop off position' that you need to be mindful of other cars coming up from behind. We have had a few 'near collisions' re this.
- That buses are being held up when some of you stay too long in your 'drop off' position. I have frequently seen the bus unable to take the bend to get to its drop off position because some of you have left your car unattended or are delaying your departure to make phone calls etc, unaware that your vehicle is blocking the way.
I know that with your support we can make the process safer for our school community.

Principal's Update 3/5/24
Dear parents,
May celebrations:
It is wonderful to enter the month of May. Already we have had several pupils bring flowers into school to honour our Blessed Mother Mary. The many altars throughout school look beautiful and we would happily receive more floral offerings. We are singing May Hymns everyday in preparation for the May Procession which will be held on May 23rd @ 1.15, weather permitting. Families of P4 & P7 pupils are invited to attend and pupils from those classes may wear their sacramental clothes.
Parental support:
Thank you to the many families that joined us in the Cathedral on Tuesday for the P5 celebration of liturgical song. It was a magnificently uplifting experience for us. Our congratulations to Evie and Lottie who were selected to sing from the altar, you represented us well, girls!
Feis success:
We finished our feis performances last night with the wonderful P6/7 play. Thank you to Miss Duffy for her wonderful work in the drama section and well done to the impressive cast. We were delighted to win two cups including Aidan’s for best actor- fantastic. The Choral Speakers also enjoyed great success, returning to school with even more prizes. Thank you to all the parents for supporting us so well.
Blessed Edmund Rice’s Feast day:
Sunday 5th May is the feast day of one of our religious patrons, Blessed Edmund Rice. A beautiful power point was shared in the classes highlighting the works and achievements of this wonderful man. It is posted below. The children enjoyed an extended break time as part of the celebrations.
