FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT
The First Sunday of Advent marks the new Liturgical Year, and the Church shifts into a new Lectionary Cycle. Jesus invites us to recognise the signs of the last days.
This is a reminder that Advent is not just looking back at the first coming of Christ at Christmas, but our personal preparation for His Second Coming. “Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come.!
PRAYER
LORD JESUS, awaken my heart and mind to receive your word and to prepare for your coming again .
Free me from complacency, from the grip of sin and worldliness, and from attachments to things which pass away.
May I always be eager to receive your word and be ready to meet you when you come again.
