St. Clare's Abbey Green Fingers

5th May 2015

Last week, the Eco Council worked together on our two sites to plant lots of flowers, vegetables and herbs. The girls from site A walked, with Mrs Rafferty, over to join the boys on site B for some vegetable planting. We worked together with Mr Henry to plant all kinds of vegetables from lettuce, beetroot and tomatoes to thyme and chives. We are hoping to have a summer salad party in June to celebrate our lettuce and tomato growing!

Meanwhile, on the St. Clare’s site, the boys joined the girls to work together, with Miss Mc Shane and Mrs M Ardle, to plant some Geraniums, Pansies, Snap Dragons and Begonias. We are keeping them all safe from the frost for a few weeks until we’re sure they will grow safely. Once the weather improves, we will move them outdoors! We really enjoyed working together and can’t wait to watch our plants and vegetables grow over the next few months! You can track our planting progress here on our Eco page! Keep your eyes peeled and your green fingers crossed!
